Company Policies

The Company aims to achieve the goals of ZERO accidents and ZERO spills at sea through continuous improvement.

Good management system performance is fundamental to the Company long term success and is therefore an integral part of its business plans. System responsibilities extend throughout the organisation from the Managing Director downwards. Everyone is expected to take a personal, active and constructive role in drive for flawless, efficient, competitive and customer focused operations.

In the following Policy statements, the overall intentions and the direction of the Company related to SMS issues, as formally expressed by the Senior Management, are set out. The Company by defining and implementing this Policy aims to:

  • Prevent unsafe acts, personal injury, damage to property and the environment.
  • Recognise that health, safety, quality and environment protection are line management responsibilities and are essential in order to achieve the Company's operating objectives.
  • Develop a sense of personal responsibility and to create interest and enthusiasm with respect to health, safety, continuous improvement and environment protection.
  • Ensure that personnel assigned to the various tasks are appropriately experienced and trained in that task and to engage those more experienced to share their knowledge with less experienced personnel.
  • Policies are posted in prominent positions on board each vessel and at the Head Office.
  • Policies are revised whenever necessary in order to ensure that the aims set are achieved and to monitor the correctness and effectiveness of the procedures and guidelines given.

Policies are reviewed at least annually during the Management Review Committee meeting.
